Gusmix.exe is a TSR utility that can be activated by pressing
ctrl-alt-l. It's purpose is to allow flexible use of the
Ultrasound card's onboard mixer. You can enable/disable Line
input, Voice output, and Microphone input with it. It can be
loaded high, and you can put it into your autoexec.bat file.
Note: Gusmix.exe is for Ultrasound cards at I/O address 0x220
(the default), gusmix24.exe is for Ultrasound cards at 0x240. In
other ways they are similar.
Line-e.sys is a modified version of the Ultrinit.sys that the
Ultrasound installation program puts in your config.sys file. It
behaves exactly like ultrinit.sys except that it leaves Line
Input open. This I find useful when playing my CD's (my CD
player is connected to the Line input of the GUS.)
Line-e24.sys is for those whose Ultrasound card is at address
0x240.
Changes to version 1.0:
Reduced memory consumption
special versions for Ultrasound boards at address 0x240
Under no circumstances can the author (Toni Nikkanen) of these
programs be held responsible for any damages these programs may
cause, and so on, you know the standard blah blah stuff. They
work for me, maybe they don't work for you.
IF you find these utilities useful, you must send me a postcard
(a letter will suffice, e-mail is not enough!). The address is:
